The Xerox WorkCentre EC7836 Color MFP

The WorkCentre EC7836 is a Multifunction Printer (MFP) for mid to large-size businesses. The product is part of a series of two MFPs: the EC7836 and the EC7856.

It is the workplace version of Xerox’s MFP machines. The EC7836 is perfect for medium to large-size teams who want a quick and easy printing, copying, and scanning solution. 

The MFP can print in color. The EC7836 has a constant printing/copying speed of 35 ppm. But if you want faster printing, then look towards the other printer in the series.

If you’re tired of low-resolution prints and copies, then the EC7836 is the best for you. It has a maximum copy resolution of 600 x 600 dpi and a maximum print resolution of 1200 x 2400 dpi.

The EC7836 scanner tray can hold up to 110 sheets of paper, and can scan as big as 11 x 17 inches (Tabloid). Besides that, the printer has an onboard system memory of 2 GB plus an additional GB for page memory.

People often fuss over copiers simply not being secure for printing and copying confidential data. But with the WorkCentre EC7836, you get over a dozen different security features. These include standard encryption and network authentication. In simpler terms, it means that your data remains secure during network usage.  

And if that doesn’t convince you, then take a look at the Common Criteria certifications that this series has. For those of you who don’t know, Common Criteria is a computer security certification. In other words, it means that your data remains secure. 

Speaking of network usage, the EC7836 can scan directly to a network for easy transferring between devices. You can also scan directly to email, USB, and even a secure server.  

Overall, the WorkCentre EC7836 is a good choice for employers who are dealing with large teams. However, it’s a bit too over efficient for a home solution.
